When I was a kid (late 1980s, early 1990s) we had a series of books about famous historical figures (Jackie Robinson, Sacagewa, Hellen Keller, etc) having imaginary friends who helped them overcome obstacles as grew. It was a great series, but now I can not remember the name or any of the authors (I think they were written by the same person). I remember the book covers hardjackets remain high, mostly white, with a simple color illustration on the front. If anyone knows what I'm talking about and can help me with a title, author or publishing company, really appreciate it. Now that I'm an adult, I would find this series to my children.
